You can never hide from Google

In the future you can no longer keep your virtual avatar private. Well after reading this post, it made me think twice on what i should be posting on my blogs. Even though i take all the responsibility for what i write, there are so many people in the virtual world who use *Search Engines* for various different reasons. You never know what kind of information would be returned when someone runs a search on a you & how they interpret that information.

Power of Blogging

How are blogs becoming powerful? How are they effecting the day to day activites in our lives? This is the typical example of that, what was just a post by Gaurav on IIPM, took a different direction altogther & became a bigger subject. There after lot of events took place between Gaurav, IIPM, & IBM.

I am not going to repeat myself on the whole IIPM stuff, I feel the Ponytail & his institute have got enough publicity from many of them. Many of us were not even aware of the article on IIPM which appeared in June 2005 of JAMMag. If not for the blogs of Rashmi, Gaurav, Varna, Amit Verma, Desi Pundit, Neha Viswanathan & many others from the Indian Blogosphere I nor the rest of the world would have known the lesser facts about IIPM.

Well I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what this all about, so let me give u a list of posts that makes good read & have covered a lot of stuff from the beginning.

From the Bloggers

Rashmi's Blog | Gaurav's Blog | Update from Gaurav | Desi Pundit – Lies Damned Lies |

After reading all this, what i don't understand is why hasn't majority of India media reported it. One thing is for sure "Truth may lie silent, but it never dies". It also reminds me of what Gaurav has written at the end of this post,"Remember, truth never hurts those who are right."

Thanks to blogging, things aren't that way any more.

Why are westerners fascinated with elephants?

There are few incidents which I have heard in the recent past, which has made me think "Why are westerners fascinated with elephants?"

Many firangs keep visiting ThoughtWorks, Bangalore for various reasons all round the year. Few of my pals also happen to work there; here is what they have observed. Most of them are really fascinated to see an Elephant when they see an elephant. Guess what is most sought after thing they carry with them while they are returning home? Wooden Elephants!

In the recent past, my company has introduced LesConcierges services. Few days ago we had this PR guy from LesConcierges to tell us about his comapny & the services they are offer. He says his company provides any service which is legal under the law. To boast about his company’s service, he gave a recent scenario, where the client (an IT company) had made a request for Elephant. Now, why did the IT Company make a request for an Elephant? The visiting CEO can be taken for an elephant ride around their campus.

On a lighter note, Small Squirrel was expecting an elephant as her Christmas gift during her childhood.;)

So, I am still figuring out why are westerners fascinated with elephants?

Five reasons why nice guys finish last at work

This is a must read. The article is based on the recent study published in the Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology says yes. Dr. Nikos Bozionelos of the University of Sheffield in England researched personality and career success and found that white-collar workers who were the most agreeable, conscientious and sensitive to the needs of others were less likely to be promoted.

Countdown to Xtinction

Countdown to eXtinction from Megadeth is the only song how i can relate to at this moment, great song.

" Endangered species, caged in fright,
Shot in cold blood, no chance to fight.
The stage is set, now pay the price.
An ego boost, don’t think twice.
Technology, the battle’s unfair,
You pull the hammer without a care.
Squeeze the trigger that makes you man,
Pseudo-safari, the hunt is canned...
The hunt is canned.

/chorus/
All are gone, all but one.
No contest, nowhere to run.
No more left, only one.
This is it, this is the countdown to extinction.

Tell the truth, you wouldn’t dare.
The skin and trophy, oh so rare.
Silence speaks louder than words.
Ignore the guilt, and take your turn.
Liars anagram is ’lairs,’
Man you were never even there.
Killed a few feet from the cages,
Point blank, you’re so courageous...
So courageous.

/chorus/

One hour from now,
Another species of life form
Will disappear off the face of the planet
Forever...and the rate is accelerating. "

Advertisements

Today i came across 2 advertisements, one is very creative and the other is very political. Few weeks ago, i was watching a programme on NDTV, where they were debating over a controversial pepper spray commerical. Basically, the Ad was a print campaign & featured in a national daily, which said: "Tomorrow if your daughter is raped, who is to be blamed? The rapist or you?". To know what happened to that advertisement, click here.

Do u feel advertisements should be regulated?
